At Quickfire, we thrive on crafting digital experiences that not only meet business objectives but also deliver real value to customers. So when Forthglade approached us to help them create a flexible, personalised subscription service that allows new customers to trial their products with a small financial commitment, we jumped at the opportunity.
Forthglade, known for its natural and nutritious pet food, wanted to introduce a new way for customers to explore their range. A massive thing for them in the market is trialing, so Forthglade were looking for ways new customers could have an enhanced way of trialing but with a small financial commitment. The goal was to offer a seamless, flexible subscription model that enabled pet owners to build their own box of food, tailored to their dog’s specific dietary needs.
But there were key considerations:
After a round of thorough briefing and scenario sessions, it was time to get to work….
We designed a dedicated landing page that closely follows the UX of the Feeding Guide results page, ensuring a consistent user experience. Key updates included adjustments to the header section and the implementation of a sticky bar displaying the total cart value – mirroring the functionality of the Feeding Guide results page. Within the cart and checkout we used checkout extensibility and more specifically functions to ensure a fair and clear discounting solution to ensure the discounted price shown was correct and that other discounts didn’t confuse the customer.
Unlike traditional subscription services, Build A Box doesn’t lock customers into rigid packages. Forthglade designed a system that allows pet owners to mix and match meals, select different portion sizes, and adjust their subscriptions with ease.
To ensure a smooth build, Forthglade had direct access to our development team. This enabled real-time collaboration, quick decision-making, and immediate troubleshooting, critical for a project with so many moving parts.
Before launch, we conducted extensive scenario planning and user testing to guarantee a frictionless experience.
Build A Box gives Forthglade customers an easy, personalised, and flexible way to explore their range. Thanks to a customer-first approach and a highly collaborative process, we helped Forthglade create a subscription model that removes barriers to trial while building long-term customer loyalty. Future value of those customers that have come through Build a Box is 40% higher than customers that don’t.
“One of the most unique things about working with Quickfire is their open access to the people actually building the product.”
“Quickfire truly excels at bringing everyone together in the room. They make a conscious effort to nail down the brief and tackle the upfront details – things that are often rushed through, like scenario planning.” – Rebecca Polding, Senior Digital Trading Manager @ Forthglade
